[12:00 PM EST - My first real entry.]

Hmm.. ya know, I know the number of people coming to this site has gone right to one over the past couple of years (that one being me). But for good reason too! Nothing changed on my site.. it was boring as hell!

Well, to remedy this, I'll try to update my page daily, at least weekly now that I have a semi-decent web editor (which is a bit more than a glorified text editor).

But, I would like to say something bout a habit of mine, which I have avoided for many many moons. It was called "Spodding". The actual definition for this word is not in your average run-of-the mill dictionary.. in fact, it's not in any dictionary at all!!! (Even the Swedish ones.) Anyway, back to the story. Spodding was an activity where one would log onto an internet community, and spend time. Oodles of time. I was hooked on a talker by the name of Cat's Cradle. It was the brainchild of ShadowWhyspr, Puma, and their respective male counterparts (at that time). It was a fun community, and I was able to act out many death defying events and skits that would normally have crippled your average badger. Ah, but I digress again. I spent many a night telneting into Cat's to talk to the locals, and.. uhh.. experience life on the net. Funny enough, my marks went a little southward.. (well, bout 10 percent, but who's counting?) But those experiences changed my life. Course, any experience will change my life, but it still sounds kewl. Back to my story. Well, I did this spodding thing for over two years, spent more time online than I did in bed, and one day.. one faithful day.. Cat's went away. There were many events and reasons leading up to this moment, but with Cat's went my entire urge to stay on the net. I used Cat's as an outlet for some crazy things that I would not have normally done (or been able to do) in normal life. Now that I think about it, what's stopping me? Well, I've heard talk about this and that, and bringing Cat's back yada yada yada.. but to tell you the truth, I'd rather let it rest. I'm not going back, and I doubt many of the original residents would.

I met dozens of people on Cat's. Most of them were in university or college. Many of them have graduated, or moved, or figured that they should go mining for chickens. Either way, I've lost touch with just about all of them. I realized this when I was cleaning up my links. It was pretty disconcerting to find that no one has a link to my page, but I guess this gives me a bit more privacy. I know where to find a few of them still.. but what is there left to talk about? The good ol' times? Do I need a pen pal? Sure, but I already have one. And until she decides that our e-mail is taking up too much room in her inbox I won't have any need to talk about nothing to anyone else. She's a nice girl, and I'm glad she's getting married (to someone else) so I won't have to worry about taking care of her. Funny enough, the only reason why we're still talking is because she e-mailed me to take her link off of my page.. she wanted more privacy.

Was there any point to this ramble you ask? Yes, yes it does. I haven't written a diary or journal in.. oh, a very very long time. Since so few people come here anymore, I don't have to worry about the whole world listening in to my thoughts. For you shrinks out there, you can try analyzing this crap, but you won't get much out of it! For those of you who happen to know me.. well, 9 out of 10 times, it will be someone who lives out of town (so I'm safe for now). Maybe I'll have a rant every now and then.. maybe not. Until next time then, I'll be here.
