Well, forgot to mention yesterday after the volleyball game that HNT (the computer guy) put on plugs on the blue network cable I got from the surplus sale last week! He even checked it to make sure that it worked.. too bad I forgot to bring it home to actually hook it up, but we'll get around to it.
Oh yeah, after I found out about the NSERC scholarship, I got e-mail from BSB congratulating me, as well as a congratulations from some girl I recognize but never knew the name for but knew my name from Pete. How bizarre.
Peter Plachta, a guy from my high school who's currently attending at UT also won an NSERC scholarship. I thought that was kinda kewl. I still have to congratulate him too.
Finally, another thing I forgot to say during my semi-aware update last night was that my jeans got ripped from the broomball game. Wah. That's okay, I can wear them in the summer, and it's not TOO noticeable. It's right over the knee, but who looks down there anyway?
Anyway, today started off pretty early. I woke up, checked the clock. It was 7:42 AM. Groan. Roll over and all I hear is talking outside. My guess is that Hazel and ChuckL were having a discussion (argument?) of some sort. Couldn't they had had one at 7:42 PM instead? Anyway, after a lot of door closings and muffled mumblings, things went quiet, and then it was 9:30..
Spent part of the morning clearing out my e-mail box. Yeesh, I really should've gotten rid of some of those saved messages, really getting old. One of them was a story that my sis (yeah yeah, I have a sibling, so you can feel sorry for her) sent out. Mostly to relatives and the like. Quite an interesting experience I must admit, although I will not say any more.
Responded to most of the stack of e-mail that I had lying around in the inbox. an, it takes so long to go through this stuff, I wonder if e-mail actually reduces the efficiency of workers since the time spent writing e-mail outweighs the time and money saved from sending letters and phone calls? Hmm.. sounds like a Dilbert joke to me.
Didn't get much work done today again. Dang, why do people visit here so often? I get more work done after sunset than during the day. I should start working like a night owl or something.
Interestingly enough, Fred told me that "whee" had an "h" in it. I put "wee" into the subject of my NSERC award and offer to take everyone in the group out to lunch. I guess he was right.
Finally got to see that new Star Wars trailer. Tres kewl. Many thanks to Dr. Fisher for providing Quicktime 3 seeing as we don't have the most up to date version of Quicktime on Polaris.
This wet my appetite enough to try organizing a trip to the local theatre to watch the Star Wars trailer and Wing Commander at the Famous Players SilverCity down in Cambridge.
Oh yeah, on a non-computer related topic that I found on a computer site, ArsTechnica has this page they found dedicated to Jennifer Love Hewitt's Breasts. That gave me a good laugh.
Laz is up to his updating page thing again.. and did my eyes deceive me? Or did Laz get his own domain name?? I must admit, that made me laugh out loud. (LOL for those net freaks out there)
Okay, I gave in. I got myself a Hotmail account. Dang nabbit, seems like 86 other people out there have taken QYV as a login name. That's fine, I've got a unique login name tho.
That's it for now, it's getting late, I'm getting hungry, and Millennium will be on soon (probably a rerun).
