It is quite surprising how much one can get done in a short period of time. I have a reception to attend tonight, but since I don't know anyone who's going, I don't plan on getting there until the food is served. I spent the time until then doing some chores around the house: bookkeeping, laundry, cleaning filters. I might have people over tomorrow, and I am going out as well, so time will be limited. Heck, I got up especially late this afternoon so I lost my entire morning.
Oh, it seems as if I'll be spending a lot of money in the next couple of months. I seem to owe a lot in taxes, and I have some presents to purchase.
Oh man, I need to change. There goes my time!

This afternoon I got an instant message from Derelict telling me that he was sick and could not make it to the reception. That meant that I would probably know nobody there! (I knew I should have forced someone to come with me.)
But I had already told them that I would go, so I went. Fortunately there were a couple of people there that I knew. (Or at least knew me.) So it wasn't bad. There was also a lot of food. This was especially evident when our table of eleven only had seven people show up. Two of which who left halfway through dinner.
We did make a valiant attempt to eat as much of the food as possible, but another two stopped eating when the rice came out, and I was the only one eating the desserts. I was done.
I was also seated next to the door. Fortunately, I can handle colder environments, although the rest of the people at our table was having trouble keeping warm.
The reception was okay. It was pretty standard Chinese reception fare, and I was told that the MC was actually hired to do the show. He was apparently some sort of radio announcer for a Chinese radio station, but I have obviously never heard of him before.
It was okay. They seemed to enjoy it, and as I mentioned before, it was a pretty standard Chinese reception type event. There was no dance afterwards, so I left as soon as I was able to move again.
