I spent the last few (well, several) hours putting on my (now fixed) summer tires onto the car. Not having my own garage and tools made the chore a little bit harder than I would have liked, it was doable and is fairly easy. It is also a skill every driver should have. First thing was first: I went to my locker to drop off the rims and picked up my remaining tires. This also meant rearranging my locker so that I could now fit my three rims in there in addition to all of my junk that I carry in the locker. I need to get rid of stuff soon.
Afterwards, I looked around for a nice, level, and shaded spot where I could work on the car. I passed by one when I was driving down the street, but when I doubled back, a car going the other way slipped into that spot! Argh! I was able to find another shady spot behind him, but I realized that the road was not quite level and a busy residential street was not a very good place to swap tires with the traffic and all. I started off again to look for another shady spot and found a nice flat piece of asphalt under a tree next to one of the nearby schools.
I spent the next hour or so swapping the tires. I then realized that I needed air in my tires, so I went to the gas station to pump them up. The air pump required money to operate (fifty cents actually), and since the only money I had were twenties (and a dime), I went inside to wait in line to get my twenty cracked. When I finally got to the counter, the employee took a quick look at the bill I wanted to exchange and waved me off telling me that he would start up the pump. Score!
So I pumped up the tires, and took the car onto the highway. I got up to highway speeds and did not notice any huge problem with vibration or anything else that was obvious, but I would need to get onto a long stretch of smooth pavement to do some real testing. I used the road test to do some grocery shopping before heading home. I wanted to drop the tires off back in my locker, but for some reason the garage door would not open. Buzzing the concierge did not help, so I had to wait until the patrol arrived and opened up the door from the inside.
I was finally able to load my winter tires into the locker and rearrange everything and finally got cleaned up. Mostly.
Now that I have done all of that, I need to organize the receipts for my medical expenses from last year..

I just watched parts of The Lost Room tonight. It was an interesting mini-series and has been left wide open for a continuation. The mythos and backstory surrounding the Objects has been mostly fleshed out so there is a lot of opportunity to expand on the main story line with any side stories involving these Objects. I guess we will see if they produce anything else from this universe.
