I have very little tolerance for spicy foods. I know that. You know that. Not everyone does however. When I looked at the pizza box that the guys had left over for lunch yesterday, there was a piece of mushroom that was left inside.
I have always liked eating fungus since it is so tasty!
So I took the piece and popped it in my mouth. It was indeed quite flavourful, until my mouth started to burn..
Since I have not been participating in the group lunch buys, they have been putting a lot of spicy additions to whatever they have been getting since I seem to be the only one at the office that cannot handle hot foods. When AI saw me struggling with my morsel of food, he gave a look and said,
"But you're Asian!"
What, so all Asians are spicy eaters?
In addition, later that day at the bar, the group had ordered nachos, which had a healthy helping of Jalapeño slices. Fortunately the Jalapeño was concentrated on one portion of the plate, so I was able to consume the nachos from everywhere else. However, there was one tortilla chip that I pulled out, that must have had one slice sitting on it, and it burned like there was no tomorrow!
Again I got this strange look from the people at the table. But hey, I am used to that now.
I scratched my car. I scratched my car!
*cry*
MJNL wanted to make some Asian dishes this weekend so we went by the T&T supermarket to pick up some Chinese groceries. After that, we went out for some sushi at A Taste of Japan before heading home.
