I finished writing this year's USPC. I didn't do all too well this year. A combination of lack of preparation, equipment issues, and timing issues combined to make me wonder why I even bothered trying to write this test.
Anyway, I got up late because I went to bed late last night. I had thought that the contest started at two, but it apparently started at one. I was lucky enough to have checked the web site ten minutes before the start time so I wasn't caught too unawares.
I had just enough time to take a shower (to wake me up) and got out in time to get the password for the test. Unfortuntely, I wasn't able to print it. It took me five minutes before I figured out that the printer wasn't connected to the computer. (The first thing you should always check - duh.)
Some of the puzzles were easy, but I spent way too much time on one which I shouldn't have spent a lot of time on! Ah well, at least I think I got the answer to that one. Oh shoot, I think I wrote the answer incorrectly. Shoot!!
Oh well. I've got a party to attend. I'm late, but I already mentioned that.

Oh, I need to pick up some ice cream and some cash before I head the the party. Hopefully I won't forget (and my baseball equipment and swimming gear).

Strange, I didn't seem to link up my results from last year. Mind you, I only got sixty. Hopefully I'll do better this year.

Well, I decided to do some laundry before I headed out to the BBQ because I wasn't sure if I would make it home at any respectable time tonight or tomorrow. Because of that, I ended up late picking up some cash, and ice cream. Furthermore, I ended up arriving very late for the party, although I wasn't last by very much. Most of the group showed up. Well, I should say that most of the regulars showed up.
It was pretty good. I missed out on the baseball, and it was too cold to go swimming, but I made it for the food, which is the most important part right? The food was good, and there was a lot of it. Actually, there was also a lot of dessert. I ended up taking home some baklava. Yum!
